{"id":63326,"date":"2024-09-09T14:34:36","date_gmt":"2024-09-09T13:34:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cxtoday.com\/?p=63326"},"modified":"2024-09-09T14:34:36","modified_gmt":"2024-09-09T13:34:36","slug":"dubber-appoints-new-ceo-following-financial-scandal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cxtoday.com\/customer-analytics-intelligence\/dubber-appoints-new-ceo-following-financial-scandal\/","title":{"rendered":"Dubber Appoints New CEO Following Financial Scandal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dubber has hired Matthew Bellizia having dismissed its previous CEO Steve McGovern after $26.6 million <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cxtoday.com\/data-analytics\/dubber-suspends-ceo-over-missing-26-6mn\/\">went missing from the company accounts<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cxtoday.com\/contact-centre\/dubber-launches-cloud-pci-compliance-solution\/\">Dubber Launches Cloud PCI Compliance Solution<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cxtoday.com\/speech-analytics\/dubber-and-optus-partner-on-mobile-voice-recording\/\">Dubber and Optus Partner on Mobile Voice Recording<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cxtoday.com\/contact-centre\/bt-picks-dubber-as-default-recording-solution\/\">BT Picks Dubber as Default Recording Solution<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The new CEO has accrued more than 20 years\u2019 experience working within the global technology business experience in his role of co-founder and CEO of Mobile Tracking and Data Pty Ltd (MTData).<\/p>\n<p>MTData is a software platform and mobile technologies supplier with operations in USA Canada, Europe, UK, Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p>In its related press release, the call recording solutions provider said that Bellizia will \u2018lead Dubber into an exciting new era\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dubber Chairman, Neil Wilson<\/strong>, showed his support for the incoming CEO: \u201cAfter an extensive search, the Dubber board is delighted to announce Matthew Bellizia as Dubber\u2019s new CEO.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMatthew has extensive experience in global technology businesses. Matthew has a deep understanding of the importance of data in driving business outcomes, which aligns with the Dubber solution&#8217;s current and future solution direction.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHe has the skills and experience to lead the company to its target of operating cash flow break-even in FY25 and to build market share and revenue growth into the future.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Peter Pawlowitsch who has been acting as CEO in the interim will return to work in his previous role of part-time Executive Director. The board gave him their thanks for stepping up to this role since Dubber suspended McGovern earlier in the year, which<\/p>\n<h2>Bellizia at the Helm<\/h2>\n<p>MTData was listed in the Deloitte Fast 50 Growth for three years running, growing to more than $70 million in revenue with 160 staff worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>In late 2017, the company was bought out by Telstra, but Bellizia continued to serve as CEO of MTData until August 2023. He also became a consultant for the taxi technology arm of the business until 2024, following its purchase by A2B Australia in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The new CEO began his career as a software engineer, which led to work as a software manager, product manager<\/p>\n<p>Bellizia also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer science.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Incoming CEO of Dubber, Matthew Bellizia<\/strong>, said: \u201cI\u2019m very excited to be joining Dubber and leading the company on the next part of its growth journey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDubber has a number of key fundamental attributes, including strong customer retention and a technology platform with over 225 communication service provider relationships to deliver its exciting conversational intelligence products.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt presents a unique opportunity to build from this strong base and streamline the business to align with the company\u2019s dual objectives of growth and profitability.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier this month, Dubber <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cxtoday.com\/data-analytics\/dubber-assures-investors-the-business-is-stable-after-temporarily-ceasing-trading\/\">assured investors the business was stable<\/a> despite ceasing trading for two days after it discovered further accounting errors.<\/p>\n<p>It told the Australian Stock Exchange to stop trading on Wednesday, August 28, and start again on Friday, August 30, citing a pending announcement regarding \u201cpotential adjustments to its FY2023 financial statements\u201d as its motivation.<\/p>\n<p>Dubber must now pay this money back, with interest, as it aims to put a sordid chapter in its history behind it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dubber has hired Matthew Bellizia having dismissed its previous CEO Steve McGovern after $26.6 million went missing from the company accounts.
